The purpose of the Assessor is to place an assessed value on all real property
contained within the township.  The assessed value will represent one third of the
fair market value of the property. This office is does not calculate or mail property
tax bills, that is done by the McHenry County Treasurer's Office.
The 2012 Senior Freeze forms are available in our office or on the website under the forms tab above.  If
you feel you qualify, contact our office and we can
help with obtaining the forms.

irst Installment of your tax bill is due.

The McHenry County Treasurer will be mailing tax bills on or around May
11th, 2012. The first installment of the tax bill will be due on June 11th, and
the second installment will be due on September 11th, 2012.

llinois Department of Revenue Adds Multiplier to all
McHenry County Assessments.


The IL Dept. of Revenue has issued a county wide multiplier to all parcels
within McHenry County of 1.0177. This means that your assessed value will
be raised by 1.77%. This will be added regardless of your property being
commercial, residential, or vacant. It will also be added regardless if you filed
an appeal with the McHenry County Board of Review.


March 23, 2012
Final Day to Appeal to PTAB is April 14th

The McHenry County Board of Review has completed all Grafton
Townships appeals and have mailed the final notice to property owners that
appealed. If for any reason you are still unhappy with their decision, you
have 30 days from the date of the notice to file an appeal at the state level
with the Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB). The required forms can be
obtained by following this link for the following appeal types:
Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Farm.

March 14, 2012
The assessors office has changed mailing addresses. Please do not use the
Post Office box address for future mail. All mail should be sent to
Assessors Office:  10109 Vine St. - Unit C, Huntley, IL 60142.

October 4, 2011
The deadline to file an appeal with the Board of Review for Grafton
Township has passed.  The Board of Review will no longer accept any
assessment appeals from Grafton.

Your Grafton Township Assessor, William "Bill" Ottley, and his entire staff are
committed to helping Grafton property owners that feel their assessment is higher
than the market value of their property to file an appeal with the Board of Review. If

September 1, 2011
Sept. 1, 2011 is the publish date for Grafton Township.  The McHenry County Board
of Review will accept completed
assessment appeal forms from property owners in
Grafton Township until Oct 3, 2011.  McHenry county mailed notices of assessment
to all property owners on or around Monday Aug. 29, 2011. For 2011, McHenry County
increased all assessments in Grafton by 5.31% due to the sales ratio study mandated
by state law which uses the previous 3 years average sale price.  
Our office encourages any property owner who believes their assessment is higher
than the market value of their property to file an appeal with the Board of Review.

April, 2011
The Illinois Department of Revenue has issued a multiplier of 1.0348 to all assessed
values in McHenry County.  All assessed values on our property search website will
reflect this change.
