The purpose of the Assessor is to place an assessed value on all real property
contained within the township.  The assessed value will represent one third of the
fair market value of the property.
This office is does not calculate or mail property tax bills, that is done by the
McHenry County Treasurer's Office.

The 2010 Senior Freeze forms are available in our office.  If you feel you qualify, contact our office and we
can mail the form to you once they become available.

Property tax bills have been sent out by the McHenry County Treasurer's office.  If you do not
receive your tax bill you should contact their office 815-334-4260.

office is very aware of the declining real estate values and every resident's
frustration and confusion as to why property taxes are not decreasing also.

The deadline to file an official protest of assessed value with the McHenry
County Board of Review was October 13, 2009.  
The Board of Review will no longer accept any protest of assessed value from Grafton Township.

The 2009 assessed values have been published in the Huntley Farmside.  
The date of publication - September 10, 2009.

The McHenry County Association of Realtors is offering free assistance to property owners who
may be considering appealing their assessment.
